As we grow older I feel like time goes by so much faster than before. With that being said, I cannot believe that we are almost halfway through 2017. With May already here, that means Mother’s Day is just around the corner. I love Mother’s Day because I get to celebrate my mother, get celebrated and get pampered.
One of my biggest inspirations in my life is my mother. She has persevered through countless obstacles and setbacks in her life. From being a young mom, to leaving her family and country behind in her early twenties, and the list goes on. I could not be prouder to call her my mother.
But enough of that sappy mumbo jumbo, today I am sharing with you a Mother’s Day outfit inspiration. I have been loving (and kind of obsessed with) maxi dresses lately. Maxi dresses are amazing because they are casual and comfortable but also very fashionable. Pair them with flats or sandals and you are good to go, with minimal effort.
Note: I may receive commission from clicks or purchases made through links in this post at no additional cost to you. I also received this product complimentary however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I found this beautiful dress at a local shop along with another one I shared a few posts back. What I love about this dress is that it is made of light material that makes me feel cool in the current heat we are experiencing. The long sleeves help my arms not get sunburned, which always make me itchy and uncomfortable. You would think I would be used to it by now living the majority of my life in Southern California.
I fell in love with the neckline of this dress, but if we’re being honest, necklines like this one make me very uncomfortable when running behind my rambunctious toddler. For Mother’s Day, however, we usually go out for a nice lunch or dinner, catch a movie, and enjoy family time at home so I thought I could pull it off “safely.” During any other occasion, I would opt for a higher neckline because we all know we don’t want any accidents in the playground haha.
To finish off the look I thought I would add a very special piece of jewelry to the mix. A few weeks back I got into contact with Brittany from Metamorphosis Design Studio who was kind enough to send me a beautiful personalized necklace. Looking through all of the items that the shop offers, initially, I could not decide on one single piece. At the end I was torn between the necklace and a beautiful personalized heart ring.
Brittany was a delight to work with. She made the ordering process quick and painless and we even found out that both our boys and ourselves share birthday months. How random is that? I love that the pieces offered at Metamorphosis Design Studio are all personalized by you, the buyer. You can find anything from pendants with your child’s footprint, ultrasounds, pictures, and even your loved one’s handwriting to custom tie clips and kids’ artwork necklaces. Brittany’s production time is between 7 to 10 days which is actually pretty great considering each piece is being made specifically to your request.
I received my piece beautifully wrapped in this box included with care instructions. An anti tarnish strip is also included in the box along with a zip lock bag for you to store your jewelry and protect it.
To say that I am in love with my necklace is an understatement. The necklace has both my son’s and I’s birth stones along with his initials on one side and his date of birth on the other. Since all of the pieces are customization, you can chose what to put on the hearts. Being a working mom and being away from my son for so many hours each day definitely takes its toll on me. When I’m feeling down and I see my necklace though I remember why I am doing what I am doing.
If you’re still looking for a gift for mother’s day either for your own moms or to pamper yourself, head on over to Brittany’s shop. She was gracious enough to offer a 10% discount in her shop to my readers. Head on over and use ADVENTURES10 to get your own personalized jewelry. Or send this over to your significant others as a little hint.
I hope you liked the outfit inspiration and look forward to hearing about your outfits for Mother’s Day. Also, let me know what you love from Metamorphosis Design. I am definitely getting that ring with my son’s initial on it, I cannot pass it up :).
