I love summertime for many reasons, one of them being the Orange County Fair. My husband and I have made it a yearly tradition well since before we had our little one. Of course now our experience is different (and perhaps better) since Nick helps us enjoy more parts of the fair than just the delicious food. (My husband loves to eat fry frog legs each summer, yuck.)
Last week we ventured off to Costa Mesa to get an early start in the first week of the fair. Nick slept for the first hour or so that we were there but this gave my husband and I enough time to scope out the various vendors. Each year we buy Nick a Hawaiian hat, unfortunately this year we weren’t able to find the vendor.
Once Nick woke up we were able to try some delicious street tacos. We also tried corn in Hot Cheeto crumbs. My verdict? Not as great as I thought it would be.
This year apart from the petting zoo area we also walked through the Junior Livestock Auction area. Nick was able to see the various animals that high schoolers cared for as part of Future Farmers of America (FFA).
All in all, it was the perfect Sunday. I love seeing the world through my son’s eyes. The excitement I see in his face makes everything I do worth it. If you’re in the Southern California area make sure to check out the fair. The fair is open through August 13th. For more info, check out their website.
You can also shop mine and Nick’s outfits down below. The dress I wore is from Knox Rose for Target. Unfortunately it is currently sold out but I’ve linked a few similar Off The Shoulder Bell Sleeve dresses.
